    GOULASH

    • 2 ½ lbs BEEF, CHUCK, DICED, LEAN, RAW
    • 3 quarts WATER
    • ½ lbs ONIONS WHITE, FRESH, CHOPPED (1 cup)
    • 1-¼ Tbsp PAPRIKA GROUND
    • 1 tsp SALT
    • 2 tsp GARLIC POWDER
    • ½ tsp PEPPER BLACK, GROUND
    • ½ tsp THYME GROUND
    • 1 cup WATER COLD
    • 1/3 cup FLOUR ALL PURPOSE

    NOODLES

    • 4 quarts BOILING WATER
    • 1 lb NOODLES EGG, WIDE
    • 1 tsp SALT

    Instructions

    Method:

    • Place beef, hot water, onions, paprika, salt, garlic powder, pepper, and thyme in sauce pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover; simmer about 2- 3 hours or until beef is tender. Skim excess fat.
    • Combine cold water and flour to make a smooth mixture. Stir into beef mixture until well blended. Return to boil; reduce heat; cook 10 minutes or until thickened.
    • Add noodles to boiling salted water, while stirring constantly. Cook 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Do not overcook. Drain thoroughly.
    • Serve 3/4 cup (6 oz) goulash with 1 cup noodles.
