BRAISED BEEF AND NOODLES

  • 1 ¼ lbs BEEF DICED, LEAN, RAW
  • 1 cup WATER
  • ½ cup ONIONS FRESH, SLICED
  • 3 Tbsp CATSUP
  • 1/8 tsp PEPPER BLACK, GROUND
  • ¼ tsp THYME GROUND
  • ¼ tsp GARLIC POWDER
  • 1 BAY LEAF WHOLE, DRIED
  • ¼ c FLOUR ALL PURPOSE
  • ¼ c WATER COLD
  • 1 tsp SALT

NOODLES

  • ¼ lb NOODLES EGG
  • 1 qt WATER BOILING
  • ¼ tsp SALT

Instructions

Method

    BEEF

    • Place beef, water, onions, catsup, pepper, thyme, garlic powder, bay leaves and salt in stock pot. Bring to a boil; reduce heat; cover; simmer about 2 hours or until tender. Skim off excess fat. Remove bay leaves.
    • Combine flour and water to make smooth mixture; stir into beef mixture. Blend well. Return to boil. Reduce heat; cook 10 minutes or until thickened.

    METHOD

      NOODLES

      • Add noodles to boiling salted water; return to a boil; cook 8 to 10 minutes or until tender; drain thoroughly.
      • Add cooked noodles to beef mixture. Stir well.
