Ingredients

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 ⅓ c MILK WHOLE
  • 1 lb SAUSAGE PORK, RAW
  • 2 Tbsp SHORTENING BUTTER
  • C FLOUR ALL PURPOSE
  • 1 tsp SALT
  • PEPPER BLACK, GROUND

Instructions

Method:

  • Break up, and brown sausage over medium heat. Remove from pan.
  • Reconstitute milk; heat to just below boiling. DO NOT BOIL. Set aside for use in Step 4.
  • Add flour to shortening (and drippings) in pan. Use brown particles remaining in pan. Cook for about 5 minutes until light brown, stirring until smooth.
  • Add hot milk from Step 1, stirring constantly.
  • Bring to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  • Add sausage stir to combine.
  • Add salt, add pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot.
