CREAM SAUSAGE GRAVY
Ingredients
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 ⅓ c MILK WHOLE
- 1 lb SAUSAGE PORK, RAW
- 2 Tbsp SHORTENING BUTTER
- ⅓ C FLOUR ALL PURPOSE
- 1 tsp SALT
- PEPPER BLACK, GROUND
Instructions
Method:
- Break up, and brown sausage over medium heat. Remove from pan.
- Reconstitute milk; heat to just below boiling. DO NOT BOIL. Set aside for use in Step 4.
- Add flour to shortening (and drippings) in pan. Use brown particles remaining in pan. Cook for about 5 minutes until light brown, stirring until smooth.
- Add hot milk from Step 1, stirring constantly.
- Bring to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Add sausage stir to combine.
- Add salt, add pepper to taste.
- Serve hot.
