Ingredients:
2 ½ c FLOUR, WHEAT, GENERAL PURPOSE
2 ½ c SUGAR, GRANULATED
2 tsp SALT
2 ½ tsp BAKING SODA
1 ½ +2 tbsp COCOA
7 tbsp MILK, NONFAT, DRY
1 c SHORTENING
1 ¼ c WATER
5 EGGS, WHOLE, LARGE
10 Tbsp WATER
1 ½ tsp EXTRACT, VANILLA
COOKING SPRAY, NONSTICK
Method
- Sift together flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, cocoa, and milk into mixer bowl.
- Blend shortening with dry ingredients. Add water gradually; beat at low speed 2 minutes or until blended. Beat at medium speed 2 minutes. Scrape down bowl.
- Combine eggs, water, and vanilla; add slowly to mixture while beating at low speed 1 minute. Scrape down bowl. Beat at medium speed 3 minutes.
- Lightly spray each pan with non-stick baker’s cooking spray. Pour batter into each greased and floured pan. Spread evenly.
- Using a convection oven, bake at 300 F. for 25 to 35 minutes or until done.
Cool; frost if desired.
